In Isaiah 41:10 God tells us to not fear or be afraid. We say, but Lord, you have no idea what I’m going through. This is because we only see the words “do not fear and do not be afraid”. We skim over the rest of the verse perhaps because we don’t want to see that He really has a solution for our fears. Sometimes we would rather wallow in our difficulties than consult God for the answers.
We often get tunnel vision and like Peter (Matthew 14:29-32), we look around at our circumstances, taking our eyes off Jesus who is right there with us bidding us to come to Him.
Let’s look at what the Lord is telling us in Isaiah 41:10. He told us not to fear, why? We don’t have to fear because after He said do not fear, He said “for I am with you”. After telling us to not be afraid, He tells us “I am your God” he said He will strengthen and help us. He will hold us with His hand.
Jesus is always with us. For He said:
“I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20b
“I will never leave you or abandon you. Therefore, we may boldly say,The Lord is my helper;I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? – Hebrews 13:5
He is our God. He is our strength and help in all the circumstances he allows to touch our lives.
Jesus is holding your hand. Rest in His love and grace for you.
